The Temple Bay Property is a lithium-REE exploration opportunity located 25 km west of Dryden, Ontario.

Due to its proximity to Bounty’s head office in Red Lake, and significant exploration potential for lithium, tantalum and other rare-elements in pegmatites, the Temple Bay Property is Bounty Gold Corp’s flagship LCT pegmatite exploration property and as such, is currently not available for option. We will focus significant time and resources toward advancing this project during the 2023 field season.

The Temple Bay Property is located along the contact between metasediments of Wabigoon Subprovince (to the north) and metavolcanics of Sioux Lookout Domain (to the south). S-type, peraluminous granites are also present on and adjoining the property, and preliminary grassroots prospecting has revealed that swarms of pegmatite dikes have intruded the Wabigoon Subprovince metasediments. The quantity and size of some of these pegmatite dikes appears to be considerable.

Historic grab samples from several of the pegmatites present on the property in the 1990’s yielded highly anomalous Ta values of up to 182 ppm. The Ontario Geological Survey collected several samples from the property during a province-wide reconnaissance of peraluminous granites and rare-element pegmatites (Operation Treasure Hunt) which showed moderate fractioning of the pegmatites. This led them to recommend additional exploration along strike of the anomalous Ta-Nb occurrence to determine if the Ta-bearing pegmatites transition into Li-bearing pegmatites further along strike.

The Mavis Lake spodumene-bearing pegmatites 35 km to the east are also located proximal to the Wabigoon Subprovince-Sioux Lookout Domain boundary zone.

The following recommendation for exploration was provided for this area, arising from the reconnaissance work completed by the Ontario Geological Survey during Operation Treasure Hunt:

Sioux Lookout domain: exploration is warranted in this 5 to 20 by 160 km area for metasedimentary-hosted, tantalum-niobium-bearing pegmatites. Areas of particular focus include those around the Hughes Creek, Laval Lake, and Zealand stocks and the Eagle Lake area in the vicinity of the Temple Township Nb-Ta pegmatite, southwest to Warclub Lake, and adjacent to Zealand stock.
